A Wisconsin man who thought he could squeeze in a workout while on a restricted driver’s license will have to face a judge this week to explain his fitness priorities.

Tyler Ohlsson, 27, who was already under a strict “Business Purposes Only” (BPO) restriction following a recent driving under the influence arrest, was pulled over by Clermont police earlier this month. The reason for the stop? Ohlsson was behind the wheel of a vehicle with a registration that had been expired for more than six months.

When the officer asked why he was driving to CF Fitness when his license explicitly limited him to business-related travel, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound defendant offered a unique defense: He told the officer he was simply “trying to take care of his body.”

Apparently, “business purposes” does not include bench presses or cardio.

Ohlsson admitted to the officer that he knew he wasn’t supposed to be driving to the gym, but claimed he was in a financial pinch and couldn’t afford a rideshare service like Uber. He also told authorities he had been struggling to get into mandatory DUI classes, though he finally secured a spot for this week.

Ohlsson, who indicated he plans to eventually move back to Wisconsin, was arrested and cited.
