A Leesburg woman was arrested following a domestic disturbance at a local hotel that police say escalated into violence, with both parties providing starkly different accounts of the events to responding officers.

Paige Lynn Farley, 27, was taken into custody on Wednesday and faces felony charges of false imprisonment, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and simple battery.

According to an arrest affidavit filed by the Leesburg Police Department, officers were dispatched to a hotel shortly before 7 a.m. after receiving a report of a battery. The ensuing investigation highlighted a significant discrepancy between the statements provided by Farley and her domestic partner.

Farley told investigators that the conflict began around 3 a.m. when she was awakened by the victim, who accused her of infidelity involving her ex-husband. Farley stated that as she attempted to grab the keys to their rental vehicle to leave the room, her boyfriend allegedly stood between her and the keys, brandishing a knife. She claimed that while she attempted to block the strike, she sustained a cut on her inner left forearm.

The victim, however, offered a conflicting narrative to police. He told officers that he had confronted Farley about messages he discovered on her phone. According to the affidavit, he alleged that Farley became physically aggressive, slapping and scratching him. He claimed that she then used a small kitchen knife to threaten him, which he eventually disarmed and threw onto a pile of towels.

The victim further alleged that Farley attempted to physically trap him in the room by moving a refrigerator to block the door. He told officers that when he tried to squeeze past the appliance to escape, Farley pushed it into him, causing a laceration on his left thigh.

Police investigation findings ultimately pointed to physical evidence that authorities said did not support Farley’s version of events.

The officer who processed the scene noted in the affidavit that the cut on Farley’s inner forearm appeared inconsistent with her claim of using a defensive posture to block a strike. Conversely, officers observed multiple injuries on the victim, including scratches, nail marks, and the fresh cut on his thigh—which investigators determined corroborated his account.

Police also interviewed a hotel employee who reported hearing consistent noise from the room throughout the night and stated they witnessed Farley chasing the victim. Additionally, officers located a knife in the room near a white couch, matching the description provided by the victim.

When officers asked Farley to clarify her statement, she became argumentative and declined to provide further information, according to the arrest report.

Farley was medically cleared at a local hospital before being transported to the Lake County Jail. She is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.
