Alfreda, lovingly known as Bo, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus early Friday morning, June 18, 2026.
She was born in Bluefield, West Virginia on June 15, 1933, to parents Alfred and Minnie Perdue. She married Stewart (Bill) Perdue and raised a family in Brushfork, West Virginia. They also lived in Bland, Virginia for some years after their children were grown. After the death of her husband, she moved to South Carolina to be near to her daughter, Carolyn, and for the last 26 years she lived in Florida near her son, Stewart (Butch). Bo enjoyed traveling, nature, and art as well as spending time with her family. She was an accomplished artist with a passion to share her love of art with others. Her church community was of utmost importance to her.
She served in the nursery and even taught Sunday School until she moved into Hearthstone Assisted Living in 2024. Her love of Jesus poured out into the lives around her. She always had a smile and a greeting for anyone who looked her way. She helped those she could and provided words of encouragement to those who needed it. She was outspoken about her faith and her love of Jesus. The impact she had on her retirement community was clearly made known as so many of the residents and staff members of Hearthstone gathered around her in her final few days, speaking kind words and expressing gratitude for her and their love for her. Bo will always be remembered for being small but mighty. Her personality, along with her smile, filled the room and captivated her audience. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
Alfreda was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, daughter Terri, and son Jeff. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn, son, Butch, daughter-in-law, Kristina, two precious nieces, Jackie and Karen, and nephews, Jim, Allen, Jody, and Kevin. She loved and enjoyed her grandchildren (Paul, Claire, Angel, Jason and Emilee) and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on July 28, 2026, at Roselawn Cemetery. Friends, family and loved ones are invited to attend.
