
Charlotte Drawdy Barrett passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 with family by her side.
Born in Leesburg, Florida, Charlotte lived a life defined by dedication, compassion, and unwavering love for her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Her kindness, strength, and enduring commitment to family left a lasting impact on all who knew and loved her.
She found her greatest joy spending time on Edisto Island and at the bridge table where her quick wit and sharp game kept her partners on their toes for decades. She was a 1951 University of Georgia graduate and a member of the Phi Mu Sorority, the second oldest sorority in the United States. For a number of years, she was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Augusta, Georgia. In the later years, she attended Republican Baptist Church, Clarks Hill, South Carolina.
She is survived by her son, James Tobin (Ruth) Barrett, III; grandchildren Carl (Elizabeth) Barrett; William (Ashley) Barrett; Virginia (Robert) Gauthier; Caroline (Billy) White; step-grandchildren Don (Shelly) Spivey; Kathy (Buddy) Miller; great-grandchildren Charlotte, Walker, Wyatt, and Winston Barrett; Jordan Bethune; Katherine Gauthier; Mariana, Billy, and Barrett White; step-great-grandchildren, Buddy, Graycie, Savana, and Jedidiah Miller. She is also survived by her special schoolmates and childhood friends Marge Russell and Jean Wright.
She was predeceased by her husband, James Tobin Barrett, Jr; daughter, Mariana Barrett Wheatley; son, Sherman Barrett; daughter-in-law, Lillemor (Lilly) Barrett; parents, Sherman and Allifair (Fairy) Drawdy; sister, Ullainee Sancken; grandson, Daniel Wheatley.
The family would like to extend a special thanks and love to her Gentiva Hospice Chaplain Mark Riser; Nurses Kathy Culver, Brittany Bearden, and Wendy Smits; CNAs Raven Harris and Sabrina Butler; and caretakers Tonya Tucker and Rhonda Washington.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 10 o’clock in Westover Memorial Park, Augusta, GA. Chaplain Mark Riser will officiate.
