An Ocala man will appear in court after allegedly shoplifting a wallet from Walmart.
An officer responded to Walmart, located at 2501 Citrus Blvd., when loss prevention brought 20-year-old Kevin Lopez to their office for shoplifting around 6:55 p.m. Monday, June 15, according to a case report from the Leesburg Police Department.
Surveillance footage showed Lopez browsing merchandise in the jewelry department when he picked up a black $9 wallet and walked to the men’s clothing department. He then ripped off the tag and slipped the wallet into his right shorts pocket. He passed all points of sale without paying for the item, the report said.
Lopez was ultimately issued a misdemeanor citation for retail theft and a trespass warning from the store. He is due to appear in court on July 7.
