A Mount Dora man was arrested after allegedly slapping his ex-girlfriend and smashing her car window with a brick.
An officer responded to a battery and criminal mischief complaint at an undisclosed Leesburg residence at 3:40 a.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. The ex-girlfriend of 51-year-old Anthony Lamont Jackson advised that he had battered her and smashed her vehicle’s window with a brick before leaving the area.

The ex-girlfriend looked upset when speaking with law enforcement, stating she had dated Jackson since 2025. They ended their relationship about two days before the incident, the report said.
She explained that he had shown up drunk at her grandmother’s house at 3:30 a.m. He intentionally slapped the ex-girlfriend’s face twice, causing her pain and discomfort. Her grandmother heard yelling outside and called her to come in, the report said.
Jackson then walked into the yard, picked up a brick and struck the driver’s side back window of her white Buick sedan. This left between $60 and $130 in damage. He subsequently dropped the brick at the end of the driveway and left, the report said.
Officers found Jackson at Circle K, 900 S 14th St., about an hour later and tried to speak with him about what happened. He immediately went into the restroom and barricaded himself inside. He refused to come out for some time, but he ultimately came out to be taken into custody, the report said.
Jackson advised that he went to his ex-girlfriend’s house to get his wallet. She handed it to him and charged at him, which scared him. He pushed her away in an attempt to defend himself, the report said.
He further stated that she was upset because another woman was in his vehicle. This woman did not want to answer questions or cooperate with the officers. The ex-girlfriend proceeded to pick up a rock and strike the passenger-side window of his vehicle. So, he picked up the same rock and smashed her vehicle, the report said.
However, an inspection of Jackson’s vehicle revealed nothing but some scuffs that could be rubbed out, the report said.
Jackson was arrested on charges of criminal mischief and resist officer without violence. He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $1,000 bond.
