A Leesburg woman will appear in court after attempting to steal $110 worth of items from Walmart.
An officer responded to Walmart, located at 2501 Citrus Blvd., regarding retail theft at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, according to a case report from the Leesburg Police Department. A loss prevention employee advised that he tried to stop 35-year-old Rachael Nicole Hennon, but she fled toward the nearby Wells Fargo.

Law enforcement searched the area until they found Hennon in the bank’s bathroom. She was then escorted back to Walmart so the employee could confirm she was the suspect who refused to stop when asked by him. When confronted, she dropped backpacks with $110.75 in stolen merchandise, including Tegaderm, adhesive pads, roach spray and an inverter, to run toward Citrus Boulevard, the report said.
Hennon was issued citations for retail theft and resisting a merchant. She is due in court on July 14.
She was one of two arrested in Dec. 2024 after a brawl in Leesburg.
