A man from Guatemala was arrested after being caught trespassing with a smoking pipe in a woman’s backyard.
A deputy responded to a home on Centennial Boulevard in Leesburg around 1 a.m. Thursday, when 33-year-old Jose Luis Morales showed up on the property after being trespassed, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Upon arrival, the deputy could not find Morales. A female resident advised that she had just seen him on a security camera in the backyard, and a check of the area revealed he was hiding behind a trash can. A search of his person yielded a glass smoking device with burnt methamphetamine residue, the report said.
Morales was arrested on charges of trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia. The native of Guatemala was booked at the Lake County Jail with bond set at $2,000.
