A homeless man in Leesburg was arrested for trespassing at Leesburg Square when an officer spotted him in the woods.
An officer patrolling the Leesburg Square Plaza, located at 2241 Citrus Blvd., found 39-year-old Robert Allen Carrier in the tree line just west of the plaza at 2:40 a.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. He had a tent set up about 50 ft from the parking lot.

While speaking with Carrier, the officer recognized him as someone he had trespassed from the plaza on June 11. Carrier refused to identify himself but stated he was living in the woods. He agreed to leave as the officer advised that the woods were still considered part of the plaza, the report said.
Dispatch then stated Carrier had been trespassed from the shopping mall on Jan. 2, in addition to the verbal trespass on June 11. Carrier was unaware that the tree line was considered part of that property, the report said.
Carrier was arrested on charge of trespass after warning. He was booked at the Lake County Jail with bond set at $1,000.
