A homeless woman from Orlando was arrested after eating a meal she could not pay for at a Mexican restaurant.

A deputy responded to SR Tequila Mexican Grill, located at 16745 Cagan Crossing Blvd., Clermont, when 66-year-old Lucilene Adas refused to pay for her food and drinks at 9:25 p.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Adas was still in the outside dining area of the restaurant by the time the deputy arrived. She had ordered a meal and alcoholic drinks totalling $37 without the intent to pay. She was offered multiple chances to do so, but she could not cover the bill, the report said.

The manager on duty filled out an affidavit that explained how the restaurant tried different ways to get Adas to pay, yet none of the ways she tried worked. The owner of the establishment was called and gave her consent for the manager to file for prosecution on her behalf, the report said.

Adas was subsequently arrested and taken to Lake County Jail. While en route, she became unruly and verbally abusive, the report said.

The native of Brazil was charged with obtaining food with intent to defraud. She was booked at the jail on a $500 bond.
