A Leesburg man was arrested for driving with a license that had been revoked for DUIs and habitual offenses.

A deputy stopped 44-year-old Jamie Ray Proctor at County Roads 44 and 473 in Leesburg at 10:50 p.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The registration on his red Ford Escape had expired since January.

A subsequent check of Proctor’s license revealed six previous convictions for driving with a suspended license and two for DUI. He was labeled a habitual traffic offender on July 3, 2012, and his driver’s license had not been reinstated since, the report said.

Proctor stated numerous times that he knew of his license being revoked, but he continued to drive anyway, the report said.

He was arrested on charge of driving while license revoked (habitual) and booked at the Lake County Jail. He was released after posting $10,000 bond.
