A pair of Alabama women were arrested for theft after skip-scanning $111 in merchandise at Walmart.

A deputy responded to a theft at Walmart, 550 U.S. Hwy. 27, Clermont, around 11:45 a.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Loss prevention advised that 27-year-old Sophia Nichols and 28-year-old Demiah Ashleigh Henley skip-scanned multiple items.

A review of surveillance footage determined the two women took turns stacking two items in their hands and only scanning one of them before placing them in bags. They made two transactions, which totalled $111.19, and left the store without paying for those items, the report said.

Nichols and Henley were arrested on charge of retail theft and booked at Lake County Jail. They were released after posting their respective $500 bonds.
