A Leesburg man wearing a classic “wife beater” undershirt was arrested after a domestic disturbance.

Officers responded to a residence on Virginia Drive at 4:35 a.m. Sunday, regarding a domestic battery incident between 33-year-old Nicholas Wilson Williams and his wife, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

The wife advised that the couple was arguing at an undisclosed address between 7 and 8 p.m. Saturday. They were in the living room when Williams became verbally abusive and would not let her leave. She was eventually able to leave the house, but she had to go back inside to get her keys, the report said.

When she returned, Williams was furious. He grabbed her hair with both of his hands and placed her against the door. She stated, “I need to go,” multiple times before he finally allowed her to leave, the report said.

Officers later responded to the home to arrest Williams. He stated he pulled his wife’s hair and would not let her leave because he “wanted to show her how he could be,” the report said.

The Utah native was charged with false imprisonment (domestic) and simple battery (domestic). He was booked at Lake County Jail with bond set at $50,000.
