A Leesburg man was arrested with methamphetamine after running a stop sign on a bicycle.
A deputy stopped a 36-year-old bicyclist, Donald Lee Duncan, for running a stop sign at the intersection of South Haines Creek Road and Park Avenue in Leesburg around 3:20 p.m. Sunday, May 31, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

When told he was required to follow all traffic laws, Duncan stated he did not know that. He then consented to a search of his person, revealing methamphetamine in his back pocket. He obtained it from a house on Lakeland Street, which he described as the one with a large box truck parked outside, the report said.
Duncan was arrested on charge of possession of methamphetamine. He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $2,500 bond.
He was previously arrested in Oct. 2022 for violating his probation and in Dec. 2020 for stealing a phone from an internet casino.
