John passed away at the age of 80. He left behind his wife Mary of 58 years, his daughter Michelle, and his son Jonathan. His granddaughters Caitlin and Madison, as well as his brother Tom. He also left behind his family dog Beau, who does not understand where he has gone, and who greatly misses their rides in the Toro together.

John was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to Hilda and Henry Moyer. He graduated from Temple and Drexel University with bachelor’s degrees in Architecture and Engineering. After marrying his wife Mary, the family lived in Valley Forge.

John served in the Army and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.

He worked in architecture and later opened his own architectural construction business. He did work in Pennsylvania, New York, Washington, D.C., as well as surrounding areas.

John and his wife retired to Marco Island, Florida, in 2002. On Marco Island, John was a member of the Marco Island Men’s Club and the Marco Sportfishing Club.

In 2023, John and his family relocated to Leesburg, Florida. There, he became a member of the Leesburg Boating Club and served on the board for the Historic Preservation in Leesburg.

His favorite days were spent on the boat with his family, cruising down the river in a pontoon boat. He loved his family and friends greatly, especially his two granddaughters. He was a loyal friend.

John’s service will be held at Marco Lutheran Church. Located at 525 North Collier Blvd., Marco Island, Florida, 34145, on June 18, at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon to follow in the Great Room of the Lutheran Church.
