A Leesburg woman was arrested with fentanyl after running two stop signs.
An officer observed a white Dodge Challenger commit multiple infractions on the roadway, including running two stop signs, on Limit Avenue around 11:50 p.m. Thursday, May 28, according to an arrest report from the Mount Dora Police Department. Due to the danger posed to other motorists, he stopped the 20-year-old driver, Haleigh Elizabeth Sherrouse, near U.S. Hwy. 441.

Upon approaching Sherrouse, he was met by the very strong odor of marijuana coming from her vehicle. She did not have a medical marijuana card and consented to a search of her vehicle. This led to the discovery of a white plastic bag with 0.8 grams of fentanyl in the glove compartment and a small 0.2-gram cluster of marijuana in the center console, the report said.
Sherrouse was then arrested on charge of possession of fentanyl. She was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $2,500 bond.
