Carole Harrison of Leesburg, FL, and formerly of Bowling Green, KY, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at her home. The 87-year-old Barren County, KY native was born on March 25, 1939, as the middle child of the late Renick and Lela Neagle Lawrence.

Carole married Carl L. Harrison of Glasgow, KY on October 18, 1958 and had 3 children. Carl and Carole moved to Bowling Green, KY and later to Leesburg, Florida. They dearly loved their children; four grandchildren and Carole had the joy of knowing her two great granddaughters. Carole’s first job was at Pushing’s Department Store on the square in Bowling Green. She also previously worked at the Barren County Courthouse and had briefly worked at several other jobs in Bowling Green, with the last being Graham Studios but was mostly a stay-at-home mother and wife.

Carole enjoyed playing Bridge, Pegs and Jokers, Mahjong and other card games, was an avid UK Men’s Basketball fan, enjoyed reading and working puzzle books and loved eating out. Carole also enjoyed some travel over her lifetime, especially her trip to San Francisco with her sister Dean, her niece Lisa and her great niece Ali. She also had traveled to Washington, DC, and Williamsburg VA with some of her children and grandchildren and had made numerous trips back and forth to visit family and friends in KY with her sons and their families over the years.

Carole lived in an active 55+ community and had taken several bus trips with friends from the neighborhood including to New England, Mississippi and many day trips around Florida.

Besides her parents, Carole is predeceased by her husband of almost 44 years, Carl L. Harrison, their daughter, Janet Karen Harrison of Glasgow and their son, Gary Harrison of Windermere, FL, her brother, Roland Lawrence of Smiths Grove, KY and her sister, Dean Lawrence Jones of Bowling Green, KY. She is also predeceased by her Harrison sister in laws, Louise Britt of Louisville, and Oleta Hatchett of Glasgow, KY.

Her survivors include her son and daughter in law, Ron and Tracy Harrison of Windermere FL, her daughter in law Marsha Harrison of Windermere, her four grandchildren, Wesley Harrison of Windermere, Shana Harrison Palmer of Ocoee Fl, Connor Harrison of Bowling Green KY formerly of Windermere and Ben Harrison of Windermere and her two great granddaughters Melanie and Aurora Palmer of Ocoee.

She is also survived by one remaining sister-in-law Doris Harrison Adams of Shepherdsville KY. Carole has 5 surviving nieces and nephews through her brother and sister. They are Richard, Deborah, Elizabeth, Greg and Lisa. Carole also has 8 surviving nieces and nephews through her Harrison sister in laws, and they are Wayne, David, Pam, Tommy, Lesley, Jay, Kay and Paul Jason. with a niece Kim and a nephew Tim predeceasing her. She also has some special cousins and friends left to cherish their memories with her. Carole had attended St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Bowling Green, Morrison United Methodist Church in Leesburg and Central Christian Church in Mount Dora FL. Cremation was chosen and she will be buried beside her husband and young daughter at a later date in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery, Glasgow KY. The family will post more info when the date has been determined.
