A Clermont teen and her ex-boyfriend were arrested for battery after throwing a milkshake and a Sprite at each other.
Officers were dispatched to Burger King at 780 E Hwy. 50 around 12:10 p.m. to speak with an 18-year-old employee, Ziana Evette King, regarding a physical altercation with her ex-boyfriend, 20-year-old Alvah Troy Rodney, according to an arrest report from the Clermont Police Department.

King told law enforcement that she had been in a three-year romantic relationship with Rodney, which ended in January. When she saw him outside her work in the neighboring Pizza Hut parking lot, she left the building to tell him to leave. She also mentioned civil issues about a cell phone owned by Rodney under their cell phone plan, the report said.
She was walking back to work when he followed her in his vehicle. He later walked into the Burger King lobby, followed her behind the counter and threw Sprite on her body. He then pushed her to the floor, to which she slapped his face and pulled his dreads. Another employee attested to this account, the report said.
The officers next headed to the nearby Pizza Hut to speak with a witness. She advised that King entered the parking lot, walked over to a Tesla and threw a milkshake onto it. She also heard the ensuing argument and identified King as the primary aggressor, the report said.
Rodney was later found at his apartment in Clermont. He stated that he was sitting in the Pizza Hut parking lot when King walked over from her work to scream at him. He had his window down, so when she threw a milkshake at him, it got all over his arm and inside his vehicle. He was unsure if this damaged the vehicle, but he knew it would cost $200 to have it professionally cleaned, the report said.
The report noted that the milkshake was inside the vehicle and on the Tesla’s screen. It was also all over the top roof, back windshield and passenger side of the vehicle.
This incident upset Rodney, who followed King back into the Burger King. He believed she was going to “bum rush” him, so he brought the plastic Sprite bottle for protection. She began to approach him, and he initiated physical contact by throwing the soda onto her person, the report said.
King was ultimately arrested on charges of simple battery (dating violence) and criminal mischief. She was booked at Lake County Jail and released after posting $2,000 bond.
Rodney was arrested on charge of simple battery (domestic) and released from jail after posting $1,000 bond.
