A Mascotte woman was arrested for driving 101 miles per hour because she was late for work.

Shelderia Antoinette Jackson, 21, sped past a trooper in a black Hyundai Elantra on State Road 453 in Sorrento around 8 a.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Florida Highway Patrol. Radar determined she was going 101 mph in a 65-mph zone.

When stopped, she apologized and stated she was late for work, the report said. The trooper told her how fast she was going, which she acknowledged by saying, “I know, I’m sorry. I’m late for my job.”

Jackson was arrested and charged for driving over 100 mph in a manner that threatened safety or property. She was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $500 bond.
