A Leesburg woman was arrested for battery after allegedly punching her girlfriend during an argument.

An officer responded to a disturbance involving 45-year-old Tiffany Shenea Pollock and her girlfriend of five months at an undisclosed Leesburg residence around 8:05 p.m. Thursday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

Upon arrival, the officer met Pollock outside the home. She wanted her girlfriend to leave and had asked her to do so multiple times beforehand. Her girlfriend did not fully live with her because she worked at night, and she only came around “to shower,” the report said.

Pollock stated her girlfriend had been getting mail at the residence for only a week. She added that nothing physical happened between them, and she just wanted her to leave. She did say that she took her phone, though, the report said.

However, the girlfriend stated she had lived with Pollock since January and showed the officer mail in her name to the address. She was actively packing to leave the apartment at Pollock’s request during an argument. Pollock had punched her on the left side of her face, as well, the report said.

Pollock had also taken her phone and keys before locking herself in the bathroom. The girlfriend then tried to get into the bathroom and admitted to breaking the handle on the door. This was when Pollock ran at her, so she used her arms to push her face away so Pollock could not hit her, the report said.

The girlfriend had grabbed a baseball bat from behind the bedroom door to protect herself and threatened to start breaking things. She only held the bat and did not swing toward Pollock. She also had Pollock’s phone and wallet in the bedroom with her, the report said.

She proceeded to show the officer a small bump, about an inch and a half in length, on her lower right arm just above her wrist. She stated this injury was caused by Pollock hitting her with an unknown object as she left the bathroom. There were no marks where Pollock allegedly punched her, the report said.

After speaking with the girlfriend, the officer went back outside to talk to Pollock again. She reiterated that nothing physical happened between the couple, and she just wanted her girlfriend out of the house, the report said.

The officer still arrested Pollock based on the evidence. Once handcuffed, she admitted there was indeed a physical altercation. But she advised that her girlfriend had threatened her with the baseball bat in her hand, saying she would “take her head off” and start destroying her belongings, the report said.

Pollock did not initially disclose this because she did not want her girlfriend to get in trouble. She corroborated that her girlfriend did not swing the bat at her. She finished by saying her four-year-old son was in the residence and saw parts of the altercation, the report said.

Her son later described seeing the girlfriend holding a bat and walking in Pollock’s direction. He did not see anything physical, only arguing, the report said.

It was not until Pollock was at the LPD for booking that she stated her girlfriend did, in fact, hit her with the bat. She then showed officers a small bump on her left arm where her girlfriend used the bat to push her away. She also claimed the contusion on her girlfriend was already there from a work incident, the report said.

Pollock was arrested on charge of simple battery (dating). She was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $1,000 bond.
