A Kissimmee woman was arrested after allegedly punching her boyfriend on the arm in the Walmart parking lot.
Officers responded to Walmart, located at 1450 Johns Lake Rd., regarding 20-year-old Spirit Kanari Smith fighting with her boyfriend of four years in the parking lot around 11:10 p.m. Monday, April 20, according to an arrest report from the Clermont Police Department.

The officers arrived on scene to see a black Nissan Altima in the parking lot near the grocery entrance. Smith’s boyfriend sat in the driver’s seat with their son in the back. The boyfriend then rolled down his window and stated it was just an argument, the report said.
He initially advised that “nobody fought nobody,” and Smith was doing a lot of yelling. During this conversation, Smith walked out of the store and started talking to another officer. The boyfriend continued speaking, adding that while he did not put his hands on anyone, Smith had punched him once or twice on the arm while arguing over relationship problems, the report said.
Smith subsequently advised that the couple did not share a home, so they got a hotel room to be together for the night. They were in the car when her boyfriend got a call, which she believed was from another woman. She proceeded to get out of the car and went into the store, the report said.
She denied hitting her boyfriend at first, but she later admitted to punching him twice on the arm. She corroborated that he never struck her, the report said.
A male witness advised that he had seen the couple fist fighting in the car with their child present. Smith was yelling at her boyfriend to get off her as she leaned in the passenger door with him in the passenger seat. The witness then clarified the fighting part, saying he never saw the boyfriend hit Smith, the report said.
Additionally, surveillance footage from Walmart showed Smith got out of the driver’s seat, walked over to where her boyfriend was sitting and opened his door. She appeared to lean on top of him before slamming the door and walking into Walmart, the report said.
Smith was arrested on charge of domestic battery and booked at the Lake County Jail. She was released after posting $1,000 bond.
