
Alison Chambers Johnson, 70, passed away April 2, 2026, after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer.
She was born Alison Hester Chambers on May 20, 1955, in Wildwood, Fla., to Shirley Ann Hester Chambers and Benjamin Chambers, grew up in Wildwood and lived in Fruitland Park for the past 47 years. She was a sixth-generation descendent of the first settler of Leesburg, Thomas Robertson, and will be the sixth generation of her family to be buried at Lone Oak Cemetery in Leesburg.
She enjoyed cooking and baking, arts and crafts, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her three children, Brad Johnson (Jorlyn), Holly Lawler, and Chris Clayton (Kim), and 15 grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, Fredrick Cummins Hester Jr. and Gladyce Hester; her great-aunt Ruth McDonald; and her mother, Shirley Ann Hester Chambers; as well as her ex-husband Harold W. Johnson and her only brother, John McDonald Chambers.
