A Eustis man has been arrested in connection with a 2024 crash that killed a motorcyclist in Lake County.

Michael David Davis, 51, was arrested Friday on warrants charging him with vehicular homicide and DUI manslaughter. He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $100,000 bond.

Davis was driving a 2017 Ram 2500 shortly before midnight Nov. 1, 2024 traveling westbound in the eastbound lane of State Road 44 at Hammond Lane when his vehicle collided with a 2024 Harley-Davidson Sportster which was eastbound on State Road 44, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The 20-year-old Umatilla man who had been riding the Harley-Davidson was pronounced dead at the scene. He had been riding with a 41-year-old Umatilla man who was on a 2003 Suzuki VL800K. He swerved and laid down his bike. He was transported to HCA Lake Monroe Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
