Sharon Lee Worthington, 70, passed away in Leesburg, Florida on April 15, 2026.
She was born in Tampa, Florida on January 13, 1956 to James “Bob” and Imogene Smith. She was Baptist in her faith. Sharon was a great wife, mom, and Bado. She enjoyed reading, collecting Barbies, cooking, teaching children, baking, spending time outdoors, and going to the beach. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters: Jennifer (Abraham) Larsen of Leesburg, Florida, and Melissa Worthington of Cherokee, Alabama; son: Michael Worthington of Bushnell, Florida; grandchildren: Madilyn and Haley; sisters: Cindy Sullivan of Tampa, Florida, Barbara Garcia (Mark) of Rainbow City, Alabama, and Sandra Spangler of Pensacola, Florida.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Worthington; her son, Robert Worthington; her sister, Karen Buck; her granddaughter, Kiersten Nichols; and her parents, James “Bob” and Imogene Smith.
A visitation will be held at Purcell Chapel on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with the service to follow at 11am. Interment will follow to Florida National Cemetery.
