A New York woman was arrested for theft after bagging $188 in unpaid merchandise at a self-checkout in Walmart.
An asset protection employee of Walmart, located at 550 U.S. Hwy. 27, Clermont, saw 44-year-old Agueda Altagracia Cruceta Silverio bagging unpaid items around 11:55 p.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Surveillance footage recorded her holding unscanned merchandise, bypassing the scanner and bagging the items. She repeated this process with $188.19 worth of goods, the report said.
Cruceta Silverio was arrested on charge of retail theft and booked at the South Lake County District Jail. The native of the Dominican Republic was released after posting $500 bond.
