An Orlando man was charged with misusing 911 after calling twice in an attempt to get his friend arrested.

Deputies responded to a possible battery at Magic Touch Cleaning Company, LLC, located at 15824 Lost Lake Rd., Clermont, around 3:20 a.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The caller, 36-year-old Steven Millet, was concerned about his friend because she had possibly been smoking methamphetamine, and they had gotten into some type of physical altercation.

However, further investigation determined that Millet’s claims were unfounded. He had been at his friend’s residence, and she was trying to get him to leave. She moved him out of the door, and he pushed back, the report said.

His friend just wanted him off the property, so the deputies decided to transport Millet to the nearest gas station. They then brought him to Mobile, located at 16500 SR 50, Clermont, where he could write a statement and call an Uber. But when he finished writing his statement, he was unsatisfied because his friend was not arrested, the report said.

A deputy explained that they could not make an arrest with the information given at that time. Millet was still upset, saying he would call 911 again until he could get somebody to check on his friend. The deputies advised that he could be arrested for misuse of 911, but he insisted he would do it to have his friend checked out, the report said.

The deputies told him again not to call before leaving the gas station at 4:50 a.m. Six minutes later, he called 911 to claim his friend might have harmed herself or attempted suicide. A deputy went back to his friend’s place to see she was doing fine, the report said.

Millet was subsequently arrested on charge of misuse of 911 services. The New York native was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $500 bond.
