A Leesburg man was arrested for battery after allegedly attacking his boyfriend during an argument over bills.
A deputy responded to a domestic dispute between 37-year-old Jayshawn Lamon Sazone and his boyfriend of 10 years at their shared Leesburg residence at 3:45 a.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

The boyfriend explained that he owned the property and had bought the house about six years ago. He and Sazone had been living together in the home for five of those years, the report said.
Earlier that night, Sazone had been drinking alcohol. A verbal argument over bills began between the couple, and it escalated. The boyfriend told Sazone that he did not want to fight because the matter was not that serious, but Sazone took his phone, saying he paid for it even though his boyfriend was the one who paid the bill, the report said.
The boyfriend stated he would not fight and suggested Sazone go to bed due to being drunk. He instead charged at the boyfriend, who was sitting on a barstool at the kitchen island, and grabbed him around the throat. He then picked up his boyfriend, walked away for a moment and returned to slap him on the right side of his face several times, the report said.
The boyfriend did not fight back as Sazone threw him to the kitchen floor and punched him one time. Sazone then walked away to the living room. Surveillance footage from a camera mounted on the wall inside the home corroborated this account, the report said.
Sazone was ultimately arrested on charge of simple battery (domestic) and booked at the Lake County Jail. The Illinois native was released after posting $1,000 bond.
