A Leesburg woman was arrested for battery after allegedly attacking a pregnant woman whose children shared a father with hers.
An officer responded to a fight between 23-year-old Maria Mullor Urbina and a pregnant woman at The Rosewood Apartments, located at 1223 Pamela St., around 11:40 p.m. Friday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. The victim’s partner told police that the mothers of his children got into an altercation.

The victim advised that she came to the apartment complex because her partner called to tell her that she needed to pick up their kids. She stayed downstairs while Mullor Urbina walked out, talking about the victim’s children. The victim asked her partner to get their children so she could leave before walking up the stairs, the report said.
Mullor Urbina then started repeatedly hitting her and tried to push her down the stairs, the report said. She followed the victim back down the stairs into the courtyard, where she grabbed her hair and repeatedly hit her with a closed fist. She also stated, “I hope your baby dies.”
The victim was left with visible injuries, including a small laceration on her forehead and scratch marks on her left arm. She was later evaluated by Lake County EMS and refused transport to UF Health, the report said.
In Mullor Urbina’s statement, the victim came to the apartment complex to pick up her children. She walked up the stairs and knocked on the door, but when Mullor Urbina opened it, she began yelling and hitting her. Mullor Urbina admitted to grabbing her hair and denied wanting to do more than that due to the victim’s pregnancy, the report said.
Both of them went down the stairs in this manner. She retreated to her apartment once they were separated, the report said.
Mullor Urbina was arrested on charge of battery on pregnant victim and booked at the Lake County Jail. The native of Spain was released after posting $5,000 bond.
