A Leesburg woman was arrested for battery after allegedly shoving her ex-boyfriend and his mother when asked to leave their home.
Hollie Ann Taft, 43, went to her ex-boyfriend’s home in Leesburg to collect some belongings at 7:50 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

While there, an argument broke out, and Taft was asked to leave due to her aggressive behavior. She was standing close to her ex-boyfriend’s mother at the time, and she proceeded to shove her chest into the mother, forcing her to step back. She then walked over to her ex-boyfriend and started arguing with him, the report said.
She balled up her fist and shoved her ex-boyfriend with it. She also continuously threatened to kill him and his mother. Fearing she would beat him, he stepped back and left the residence, the report said.
Two witnesses corroborated this account, with both stating they heard Taft threatening to kill people at the residence, the report said.
The ex-boyfriend later added that in 2022 or 2023, he had lived with Taft for about four months. He had not lived with her since, the report said.
Taft denied ever making physical contact with anyone at the home. She claimed they were standing close to each other when arguing, but repeatedly denied any physical aspect, the report said.
The New York native was ultimately arrested on charges of two counts of simple battery and simple assault. She was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $3,000 bond.
