A Lady Lake woman with a history of traffic offenses was arrested for driving with a cancelled license.
A deputy canvassing for a suspect in a battery case spotted a 2002 Buick headed north in Leesburg around 2:40 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The driver, 43-year-old Tonya Faye Chasteen, matched the suspect’s description and was stopped on Bridle Path Lane.

A check of her driving history revealed she had no license because it had been cancelled. She had also become a habitual traffic offender as of Dec. 11, 2023, for 60 months. She had eight prior charges for driving while license suspended and multiple unpaid traffic fines, as well, the report said.
Chasteen was arrested on a charge of driving while license canceled (habitual traffic offender). She was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $2,500 bond.
The North Carolina native was also arrested in April 2025 for driving with a suspended license and in June 2020 for possession of THC gummies near a softball field.
