Dozens of employees at UF Health Leesburg Hospital will have the option to transition into the same roles for a third-party service that is taking over management of dietary services.
UF Health Central Florida filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) with the Florida Department of Commerce on Wednesday, Feb. 18, announcing the change.
According to the notice, the hospital will cease internal dietary services and transition operations to Morrison Healthcare on Friday, May 1.
This transition will impact a total of 58 employees at UF Health Leesburg Hospital, which is located at 600 E Dixie Avenue. In total, nearly 300 employees will be impacted across the UF Health system, including 102 employees in The Villages and 139 in Gainesville.
While these separations are considered permanent, all affected dietary services team members are being given the opportunity to transition to Morrison Healthcare in the same positions they currently hold.
The 58 positions affected at the Leesburg location include a broad range of roles within the food and nutrition department. These roles mirror those at other facilities, spanning from food service workers and cooks to clinical dietitians and management staff.
Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Morrison Healthcare specializes in food, nutrition, and dining services for healthcare providers and senior communities.
