A Lake County resident has been identified as the winner of a $500,000 top prize from a Florida Lottery scratch-off game.

Francisco Vega, of Clermont, claimed the $500,000 prize from the “$500,000 Cash Blowout” scratch-off game on November 3, 2025, according to lottery records.

Vega purchased his winning ticket at the Publix located at 1685 North Hancock Road in Minneola.

Although the prize was claimed last year, Vega’s identity was kept confidential under a Florida law that allows winners of prizes totaling $250,000 or more to remain anonymous for 90 days from the date the prize is claimed. That exemption period has since expired, making his name public record.

The “$500,000 Cash Blowout” game features top prizes of half a million dollars and lower-tier prizes ranging from $5 to $10,000.

The win is one of several large prizes claimed by Lake County residents over the past few months.

In November, a woman claimed a $100,000 prize from a ticket she purchased at a Winn-Dixie in Tavares

In October, one Lake County woman claimed two separate prizes from tickets she purchased on the same day.

That same month, a Groveland woman claimed a $1 million prize from a scratch-off ticket that she purchased at a local gas station.
