A Groveland woman has been identified as the winner of a $1 million prize from a scratch-off ticket purchased at a local gas station last fall.
Sandra D. Hernandez claimed the top prize from the Break The Bank scratch-off game on Oct. 7, 2025. She purchased the winning ticket at the RaceTrac located at 404 U.S. Highway 27 in Minneola.
Hernandez chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $606,700.
At the time of her claim, Hernandez’s identity was temporarily withheld under Florida Statute 24.1051. This law exempts the names of lottery winners who claim prizes of $250,000 or greater from public disclosure for 90 days. That period has since expired, allowing her name to be released.
The Break The Bank game launched in late September, offering four top prizes of $1 million. According to the Florida Lottery, the odds of winning the grand prize are approximately 1 in 3.5 million, while the overall odds of winning any prize in the game are about 1 in 3.94.
Hernandez’s win is part of a recent winning streak for lottery players in Lake County.
A ticket worth over $100,000 sold at a Winn-Dixie in Tavares, and a Lake County woman who claimed two separate prizes totaling over $12,000 from tickets purchased on the same day. Additionally, a $123,296 winning ticket was sold in the county in May, and another player claimed over $52,000 from a ticket bought at a Publix liquor store in Clermont in April.
