A local resident claimed a $1 million prize recently from a scratch-off purchased at a RaceTrac in Lake County.
The winning ticket was purchased by an unidentified individual from the RaceTrac located at 404 U.S. Highway 27 in Minneola. The winner claimed the prize on October 7 and elected to receive a $606,700 payout.
Although the winner’s city of residence is disclosed as Groveland, his/her identity is exempt from disclosure under Florida Statute 24.1051, which temporarily exempts the names of lottery winners who claim prizes “of $250,000 or greater” from public disclosure for 90 days.
After the 90-day period, winners’ names are no longer exempt.
The $1 million prize is one of four top prizes available through the Break The Bank scratch-off game. The odds of winning any prize are approximately 1 in 3.94.
The odds of winning the $1 million grand prize are 1 in 3,571,830.
The Florida Lottery started the Break The Bank scratch-off series in late September. According to the organization, there are still two out of four grand prizes remaining.
The scratch-off is one of several winning lottery tickets sold in Lake County recently that have fetched large prizes.
A lottery ticket worth over $100,000 was recently sold at a Winn-Dixie in Tavares.
A Lake County woman claimed two separate prizes for over $12,000 from tickets that she purchased at two different locations on the same day.
A $123,296 winning ticket was sold in Lake County in May, and another individual claimed a $52,422 winning ticket purchased at a Publix liquor store in Clermont in April.
