A sex offender in Fruitland Park was arrested for assault after allegedly threatening to kill his grandparents and stealing their money repeatedly.
A deputy responded to Rural King, located at 1715 Citrus Blvd., Leesburg, to meet with the grandparents of 37-year-old Kyle Davis Blowers around 4:40 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

They advised that they would not go back home until Blowers was arrested for ongoing threats and theft. They feared he would cause them serious harm and looked scared while talking to the deputy about it, the report said.
The grandmother explained that Blowers lived with them on Pinetree Street in Fruitland Park where he had been making verbal threats to kill them. About three or four days prior, he became angry with the grandfather and punched a large hole in his bedroom door. He also threw a lamp at the grandfather, which did not strike him but broke when it hit the floor, the report said.
Blowers then went up to the grandmother, stood close to her face and demanded she immediately buy cigarettes for him. He had already been stealing money from her accounts but threatened to hurt them badly, kill them or burn down their house if they told law enforcement. He stated if he did not burn the house down himself, he would have his gang do it for him, the report said.
The grandmother reiterated she was scared, describing how Blowers stood over her while she slept in bed. She and the grandfather confirmed they were afraid he would act on his threats if they did not comply with his demands, the report said.
The grandmother added he had been arrested in Dec. 2024 for armed robbery after threatening her with a knife held to her throat. He had also been arrested about three months prior in October 2025 for battery when he put his hands on the grandfather. Since then, he had not physically touched either of them but continued making threats, the report said.
While he had not recently taken anything by force, Blowers continued taking money through unauthorized electronic transfers. The grandfather stated he took money from the account just two to three minutes before they sarted talking to the deputy, the report said.
A few hours later, several deputies arrested Blowers. He stated during an interview that he never assaulted his grandparents, and they would comply with whatever it was he would ask for, the report said.
The Indiana native charged charged with two counts of simple assault (domestic) and transported to Lake County Jail to be held without bond.
He was also found guilty and convicted of sexual misconduct with a minor in 2008.
