A Leesburg man on probation for robbery was arrested for driving with a suspended license to help his pregnant girlfriend.

A deputy stopped 25-year-old Rheem Cuyler for running a stop sign in a black Nissan around 10:20 p.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

After the vehicle pulled over on Timbertop Lane in Fruitland Park, the deputy spoke to Cuyler and his expecting girlfriend beside him. He advised that he did not have a license with him, but the only reason he drove was due to his girlfriend being sick and nauseous, the report said.

A subsequent check of his driving history revealed he had four unpaid financial obligations from July 21, 2025. He was also actively on probation for robbery with a supervision beginning date of Nov. 24, 2023, and an end date of Nov. 23, 2030, the report said.

Cuyler was then arrested for driving while license suspended and transported to Lake County Jail, where he received another charge for refusing to sign a citation. He is currently being held without bond.
