A Leesburg man was arrested for driving with a license suspended for unpaid child support on Christmas Eve.

Paul St. John Martin, 47, drove a black Chevrolet pickup truck without headlights past an officer around 7:35 p.m. Thursday, according to an arrest report from the Astatula Police Department. He was subsequently stopped near Ranch Road and County Road 48 where he admitted to not having a driver’s license.

He advised that it had been suspended about four years ago for child support. Indeed, a check of his driving history revealed multiple suspensions for failing to pay financial obligations, failure to pay a traffic fine and failure to appear, the report said.

Martin was arrested on charge of driving while license suspended with knowledge. He was transported to Lake County Jail and released after posting $500 bond.

He was also arrested in Aug. 2023 after running a red light and causing a crash.
