A Leesburg woman was arrested after allegedly stabbing a man who was giving a friend money on Christmas Day.
A deputy spoke with the victim of a stabbing at UF Health Leesburg Hospital, located at 600 E Dixie Ave., at around 12:35 p.m. Thursday, Christmas Day, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. He had gone to the residence of 43-year-old Tonya Elaine Parlier on Laralack Avenue in Leesburg to speak with a friend when the battery happened.

The victim explained he had been standing outside the gate of the residence speaking with this friend when he decided he was going to give his friend a few dollars. He walked to his vehicle to get some cash before coming back to the gate. It was then that Parlier, who he knew through prior engagements and friendship, came out of the residence, the report said.
She called him a cop and came at him with a knife in her right hand and a yellow taser in her left. She put the knife against his throat and tried to tase him in his face, but he pushed the knife away, leaving a laceration on his fingers. She proceeded to swing in a stabbing motion at him and lacerated his left tricep, the report said.
The victim fled while Parlier chased him, still swinging wildly with the knife. He sustained another laceration to his back and later showed law enforcement the clothes he was wearing at the time. He had a hole through his white top over shirt and his black undershirt, the report said.
Parlier was later arrested at her home on charges of aggravated battery with deadly weapon and aggravated assault with deadly weapon. She was transported to Lake County Jail with bond set at $25,000.
