A Leesburg man was arrested for trespassing after showing up uninvited to an old acquaintance’s house and refusing to leave.

Deputies responded to 45-year-old Bryan Lamar Cochran trespassing at the home of a male acquaintance in Leesburg around 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. He had shown up uninvited but refused to leave, instead rambling about nuclear bombs, demons and that the acquintance had to kill him.

The acquintance told the deputies that he had not seen Cochran in two years and that he came to the front. As the acquaintance opened the door, he walked right in without being invited and started rambling about God and nuclear bombs in his cars. He also threatened to kill the acquintance if he tried to get help, the report said.

The deputies saw Cochran pacing around the pool area as the acquaintance explained this, and he appeared to be agitated. He then went up to the deputies in an aggressive manner with a small item in his left hand, which turned out to be a lighter. When told he was being trespassed, he stated he was leaving and started going back to the pool area, the report said.

However, he was stopped by the acquaintance who happened to be in the doorway at the moment. Cochran responded by pushing him to get into the pool area, so the deputies each grabbed one of his arms and pulled him back. As they did this, he tried to pull away from them, the report said.

The deputiues decided to perform a leg sweep on Cochran, which caused him to fall face first into sand. He continued to resist until being forcibly put in handcuffs. He proceeded to drag himself as dead weight on the way to the back of a patrol vehicle, the report said.

He was subsequently put back on the ground while a deputy drove his patrol vehicle closer. The deputies tried again to put him in the back, but he yelled that he needed EMS and could not feel his legs. Due to this, EMS was requested and later responded to the scene to take him to the Orlando Regional Medical Center, the report said.

Cochran was arrested for trespass after warning, simple battery and resist officer without violence. He was transported to Lake County Jail and released on his own recognizance. He is responsible for appearing in court on Jan. 13.

He was also arrested in April 2021 after throwing marijuana onto the highway during a traffic stop.
