A Leesburg man will appear in court this week for damaging a display during an angry outburst at Walmart.
A store representative of Walmart, located at 2501 Citrus Blvd., called the police when 30-year-old Brandon Yundt damaged several display items at 9:45 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, according to a case report from the Leesburg Police Department.
An officer arrived a few moments later and found Yundt at the property exit on South Dixie Avenue. Several Fruitland Park police officers made contact at the same time, and as the officer got out of his vehicle, Yundt stated he was angry because he had not gotten laid. He also admitted to damaging the items at the store, the report said.
Meanwhile, an asset protection employee showed law enforcement a display shelf with a minor hole and bent metal rack. The four-tier table without a track would cost $375.55 to replace, while the metal clothing rack would cost $50.00, the report said.
Yundt later stated he would pay for any damages he cost and apologized for doing so. He added that he damaged the displays due to his anger, and his card was not working, the report said.
He was issued a misdemeanor citation for criminal mischief (over $200 less than $1,000) and a trespass warning. He is due in court on Friday, Dec. 19.
