Mary Anne Keefer, 85, of Tavares, Florida, slipped away peacefully on November 29, 2025, after a long and courageous journey with Alzheimer’s disease. Born July 12, 1940, she spent her life nurturing others—first through her art classroom, and later as a devoted special-education teacher for students with disabilities.
She found joy in painting watercolor florals, quiet hours searching for seashells, and the rhythm of her Catholic faith.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, James Keefer. She leaves behind three daughters—Carolyn Jeanne Messinger of New Jersey, Heather Keefer Saulsbury of Florida, and Kirsten Marie Johnson of Tennessee—and nine kind grandchildren who carry her warmth and new warmth forward.
In place of flowers, the family invites donations to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund in her memory. https://curealz.org/
