A Clermont man was arrested for DUI after crashing into a light pole with an open bottle of Bud Light next to him.
Officers responded to a traffic collision involving 21-year-old Alexander William Toth at 839 Eighth Street at 8 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Clermont Police Department.

Witnesses had seen Toth driving a sedan southbound on Eighth Street. He struck a fixed light pole on the right shoulder, leaving the front passenger tire dysfunctional and the right fender heavily damaged, the report said.
An officer later spoke to Toth who was sitting next to his vehicle on the curb. He smelled of alcohol and had bloodshot watery eyes. There was also an open Bud Light bottle in the middle center console of his vehicle, the report said.
He agreed to participate in field sobriety exercises but lost his balance and did not follow instructions. This led the officer to conclude that he was under the influence. He also provided breath samples of 0.216 and 0.218, the report said.
Toth was arrested on charge of DUI (property damage). He was also issued citations for having an open container and careless driving. He was transported to Lake County Jail and released after posting $1,000 bond.
