A Lady Lake woman was arrested for battery after allegedly fighting an employee at the father of her child’s workplace.

Officers responded to Wild Thangz, located at 716 N 14th St., regarding a battery between two women around 11:50 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. One of them, later identified as 26-year-old Shadavia McMullen, was trying to leave in a brown Chevrolet Impala.

Upon arrival, the officers saw McMullen reverse the vehicle, park and get out. She was irate and yelled about dropping her baby off at the window tinting service where the father worked. She noticed the other woman, an employee, at the site and began fighting her. She claimed the employee had been yelling and sizing her up, and she was not going to back down, the report said.

The officers then spoke to the employee, who had multiple injuries on her face, neck and left arm. The right side of her lip was busted, swollen and covered in blood, the report said.

She explained that she was sitting down near the open bay garage when McMullen arrived. She was frightened due to McMullen previously sending her threats over text and social media to fight her the next day at an event in Tavares. McMullen then came running up to her, throwing her to the ground. She got up, which was when McMullen started hitting her, and she fought back in self-defense, the report said.

McMullen sustained no injuries but had fresh blood under the fingernails of her right hand, the report said.

She was subsequently arrested for battery and transported to Lake County Jail. She was released after posting $500 bond.
