A Leesburg woman was arrested after allegedly pointing a gun at a driver in her vehicle who believed she would pull the trigger.
A deputy responded to a battery involving 21-year-old Lexis Mae Wilcox at 2936 South Dr., Fruitland Park, around 5:15 p.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Upon arrival at the nearby Lakeside Storage, located at 2570 U.S. Hwy. 27, the deputy met with a female victim who stated her daughter had been battered, as well. The victim had gone to the residence, and three more people showed up a short time later, the report said.
She was sitting in her vehicle when Wilcox walked past her, lifted her shirt and exposed a glossy black handgun. Wilcox then kicked in the front door to the residence, screaming about someone, the report said.
She came back out from the screened area of the residence to pull out the firearm and point it at the victim from the passenger side of her vehicle, saying, “What now?” The victim feared for her life and believed Wilcox was about to pull the trigger based on her level of rage, the report said.
Deputies subsequently responded to Wilcox’s residence, located at 606 S Lone Oak Dr., Leesburg. She gave them permission to come inside, and they found an unloaded black Taurus G3C 9mm pistol in the top dresser drawer of her bedroom.
Wilcox was arrested on charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The New York native was transported to Lake County Jail and released after posting $5,000 bond.
