One of the two Wells Fargo locations in the city of Leesburg is closing its doors next month, joining over 2,000 other branches that have shuttered over the past decade.

The bank branch located at 400 W North Boulevard in Leesburg will permanently close on October 22 at 11 a.m.

According to the company, the automatic teller machine (ATM) at the location will remain in place after the branch closes.

“It has been our pleasure to serve you here,” reads a portion of the company’s statement, which is posted to its ATM.

The statement directs customers to two other nearby branches, including the sole remaining location in Leesburg (2271 N Citrus Boulevard).

According to an article by Diario AS, Wells Fargo has terminated operations at multiple branches around the United States this year.

Over the past several years, the company has regularly closed hundreds of branches each year. Dating back to 2017, more than 2,000 branches have permanently closed.
