A Clermont man who works as a chef at Walt Disney World has been arrested on a charge of animal.
A deputy responded to a battery involving an animal at the residence of 47-year-old Travis Daniel Kollman around 9 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Upon arrival, the deputy spoke to Lollman’s wife who said he went “ballistic and beat the dog.” He was upset over financial issues and took his frustration out on their boxer “Cassie” by hitting her with the wife’s cane. He struck the dog a couple times and hit her so hard it caused the cane to break, the report said.
The deputy observed a small trail of reddish pink marks on the floor that seemed wet with a sticky consistency. He also saw a wooden can that was broken by the handle. He did not see any distinguishing physical injuries on the dog, the report said.

Kollman stated he got upset with the dog because it ran out of the house and attacked the neighbor’s dog. He struck the dog outside on her behind for doing it, the report said.
However, there were multiple inconsistencies with his original statement. He kept changing the area where he hit the dog and where the incident took place. When asked to explain in chronological order what happened, he finally admitted to hitting the dog with the cane, the report said.
Kollman, who has identified himself as a chef at Walt Disney World on his social media and LinkedIn accounts, was arrested on charge of cruelty to animals. The South Carolina native was transported to Lake County Jail and released after posting $2,500 bond.
