A Clermont man was who was arrested for disorderly intoxication threatened to shoot the deputies who apprehended him at Taco Bell.

A deputy responded to Taco Bell, located at 526 U.S. Hwy. 27, Clermont, regarding a shirtless 32-year-old Lucious Jermone Woodard giving a minor alcohol and kicking cars around 3 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

The deputy found Woodard walking behind the restaurant. At the sight of law enforcement, he ran the opposite way despite being commanded multiple times to stop. He continued toward the highway where he was apprehended and taken to the ground to be handcuffed, the report said.

A witness advised that he was across the highway when he saw Woodard give a minor an alcoholic drink. The minor looked to be 11 years old, so out of concern, he approached Woodard and asked why he was giving the juvenile alcohol. Woodard stated the juvenile was his son and to mind his business, the report said.

The juvenile seemed confused with the bottle of alcohol in his hand. Woodard instructed him to give it to the witness, and he then ran toward the Cagan Crossings apartment complex. The witness gave the bottle back to Woodard who politely tossed it at the witness before walking to Circle K, located at 600 U.S. Hwy. 27, the report said.

The witness followed him as he stood at the intersection if U.S. Hwy 27 and Cagan Crossings Boulevard. Woodard approached him when he idled at the red light, slapping the hood of his white van and giving him two middle fingers. He continued to flip off other drivers on the road, the report said.

Woodard proceeded through the crosswalk into the middle of the intersection, interfering with free-flowing traffic. Other vehicles had to swerve to avoid hitting him. He then stopped traffic and punched a black minivan as it drove around him. The witness kept following him to the gas station where he believed Woodard stole more bottles of alcohol, the report said.

After being detained, Woodard refused to speak with law enforcement. He showed signs of impairment, and his breath smelled like fruity alcohol. He needed assistance to stay balanced and needed to be escorted to the patrol vehicle. Due to his actions and signs of impairment, he endangered the safety of others and caused a public disturbance, the report said.

While enroute to Lake County Jail, he continuously threatened one of the deputies. He said, “When I get out, I’m going to shoot you in your face,” “…I am going to hang you from a tree,” and “I am going to shoot at every cop in Lake County.” He also spit inside the vehicle, the report said.

He even spit through the partition of the vehicle, hitting the upper left arm of one deputy and the right arm of another. It got on the steering wheel, as well, the report said.

Woodard got irate when the deputies did not respond to his threats or requests, the report said. He tried to kick the right passenger window on multiple occasions, saying, “I’m going to kick this window out.”

Woodard was charged with disorderly intoxication, threats to law enforcement officer and two counts of battery to law enforcement officer. Bond was set at $12,000.
