A homeless man in Leesburg was arrested for trespassing at Circle K when an employee saw him digging through the dumpster.
An officer responded to Circle K, located at 900 S 14th St., regarding a suspicious person around 2:10 a.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. An employee advised that 51-year-old Michael Tazzetto was rummaging through the dumpster, and he wanted him trespassed.
The officer found Tazzetto in the parking lot of the business. While speaking with him, dispatch stated he had been trespassed on June 11, just a few days before. He was then arrested and searched, the report said.
Tazzetto had a shopping cart in his possession that contained his belongings, such as a glass pipe with burnt, brown residue. This is commonly associated with smoking narcotics, the report said.
The New York native was charged with drug paraphernalia (possess or use) and trespass after warning. He was transported to Lake County Jail with bond set at $2,000.
He also had to appear in court after lounging on a couch at Big Lots in July 2024.
