MOUNT DORA, Fla. – Ethel Jane Goodman of Mount Dora, Fla., passed away on Nov. 26, 2024 in Mount Dora, Fla.

Born in Curwensville, she was the daughter of Rudolph Olosky and Mary (Lash) Olosky.

Ethel graduated from Curwensville High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Villa Maria College. She was an elementary school teacher who was dedicated to educating children.

On Dec. 18, 1960, she wed Richard “Dick” Goodman who passed away in June 2020. Ethel and Dick were avid world travelers, visiting all seven continents and all 50 U.S. states. They were also avid Big Band and jazz fans, enjoying jazz festivals and cruises throughout the U.S. and overseas.

She is survived by her two children, Rick Goodman and wife Laurie of Aliso Viejo, Calif., and Cheryl Goodman of Arlington, Va.

Also surviving are two granddaughters, Allison Goodman of Texas and Angelika Goodman of New York; four sisters and two brothers, Mary Ann Kelly of Blairsville, Aggie Zattoni of Curwensville, Dick and wife Sheila of DuBois, Margie Riddle of Maryland, Rudy Olosky of Curwensville, and Irene and husband Bill Douglass of New York; and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister, Katherine Zwolski.

The family will host a celebration of life service at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Curwensville on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 11 a.m.

The family suggests contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
