James R. Kern, 17 of Leesburg, formerly of San Antonio TX went to be with the Lord, Sunday morning 25, May 2025, at his home in Leesburg FL due to a medical condition. James was born in San Antonio TX on May 9, 2008. He was the son of William and Star Kern.

James had a passion for video games such as Uncharted, Roblox and especially Super Smash Bros. Ultimate which enjoyed playing with his brother Billy and his father.

James also enjoyed thrift shopping with is family, collecting Pokémon cards and playing chess which he had won multiple trophies for.

He also spent a lot of time supervising his father while working in the garage and enjoyed spending time in a game room that the two of them made together.

James and his mother would make regular trips to pick-up some of his favorite foods such as Walmart chicken and Panda Express.

Most of all James enjoyed long chats with his brother while playing games together online.
James hoped to travel one day to Japan, get his driver’s license and to one day move back to San Antonio where he was born and raised.

James is survived by his parents, Stare and William Kern of Leesburg, FL, and his brother William Kern and his wife Alicia of San Antonio.

Also surviving his grandmother Carol Leas of Pennsylvania. His grandmother Debra and her husband Jeff Courson of Pennsylvania. His uncle and aunt, Brent and Janie Bowser of Pennsylvania and their children Ashton, Drake and Trenton. His aunt and uncle Leigh and Orlando Carrasco of Virginia and their children Orlando and Grayson. His uncle Drew Womeldorf of Pennsylvania and his children Camille and Curt, and his uncle Henry Scott Bowser of Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather’s William Kern and Henry “Tex” Bowser both of Pennsylvania.
